MITCORER Organizes Internal Hackathon for Smart India Hackathon (SIH 2025)

Barshi, 27/09/2025 – MIT College of Railway Engineering & Research, Barshi, successfully organized its Internal Hackathon 2025 on 27/09/2025, as part of the prestigious Smart India Hackathon (SIH 2025) initiative launched by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, Government of India.

The Internal Hackathon aimed to identify and nurture innovative ideas from students that address real-world challenges. A total of 25 teams comprising 150 students from various departments participated with great enthusiasm. The event provided a platform for young innovators to showcase their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and technical expertise.

The hackathon was inaugurated by Mr. Nikhil Pai ,Data Analyst and Ms. Aishwarya Lohar, Senior Automation Test Engineer and Dr. Ratnakar Sakhare, Professor in the presence of faculty, students, and dignitaries. Teams presented their innovative solutions on diverse problem statements such as AI, healthcare, environment, agriculture, smart cities, etc.

The evaluation was conducted by an expert jury panel consisting of industry professionals, academicians, and domain experts. After rigorous rounds of assessment, the top 15 teams were nominated to represent the institution in the upcoming Smart India Hackathon 2025 at the national level.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Madhukar J. Lengare, Principal of MITCORER , said: “Smart India Hackathon is an excellent initiative that empowers students to think innovatively and contribute to solving the pressing challenges of our nation. We are proud of our students’ participation and wish the selected teams success at the national stage.”

The event also witnessed active promotion on social media with hashtags #SIH2025 and #SmartIndiaHackathon2025, gaining appreciation from the student community and stakeholders.
