Pune, 17/01/2026 – MAEER’s MIT College of Railway Engineering and Research (MITCORER), Barshi, successfully organized its Alumni Meet 2026 (Pune Chapter) titled “The Homecoming – Celebrating our Roots and our Rise” on 17/01/2026 at Sant Dnyaneshwar Hall, MIT WPU, Kothrud, Pune.
The Alumni Meet was organized with the objective of reconnecting alumni with their alma mater and strengthening the lifelong bond between the institution and its former students. A total of 96 alumni from various batches and departments participated enthusiastically in the event.
The programme provided a valuable platform for alumni to relive their memories, share professional experiences, and contribute ideas for the growth and development of the institution. The theme “Reunite, Relive, Rejoice” reflected the spirit of nostalgia, pride, and continued association with MITCORER.
The Alumni Meet is an important institutional initiative aimed at fostering lifelong relationships with alumni, encouraging their participation in academic and professional activities, and leveraging alumni expertise for the holistic development of students and the institution.
The Alumni Meet was inaugurated with the traditional Saraswati Pooja and lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by welcome addresses and interactions. Distinguished alumni including Mr. Gagan Verma (CSE – 2021 Batch), Mr. Vishwas Patil (Mechanical – 2021 Batch), and Mr. Ankit Khade (Mechanical – 2022 Batch) addressed the gathering and shared their professional journeys. They acknowledged the institute’s role in building a strong academic foundation, practical exposure, ethical values, and industry-oriented skills.
The Welcome Address by Dr. Madhukar J. Lengare, Principal, MITCORER, highlighted the institution’s achievements, academic progress, and future vision, emphasizing the vital role of alumni in institutional development.
The Chief Guest Address by Prof. Prabha Kasliwal, Respected Mentor of MITCORER, inspired the alumni by reaffirming the institute’s commitment to academic excellence and encouraging sustained alumni engagement, mentorship, and collaboration.
The event also featured a cultural programme presented by MITCORER students, which added enthusiasm and vibrancy to the gathering. The alumni interaction and networking session enabled meaningful discussions on career development, higher education opportunities, industry trends, and professional ethics.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Alumni Coordinator Prof. Abhijeet Pawar, followed by dinner. The Alumni Meet 2026 was a memorable and successful event that strengthened alumni–institution relationships and laid the foundation for future collaboration.
